Is this a Bitcoin-backed loan?

No. CoinMortgage is the lender, not the seller of Bitcoin. You take a USD installment loan — you do not need to own Bitcoin first. Loan proceeds are used to purchase Bitcoin that is credited to an account in your name. You own the coins. CoinMortgage has only a security interest. That is different from a Bitcoin-backed cash loan, where you borrow against Bitcoin you already own.

Is this a home mortgage?

No. CoinMortgage finances a Bitcoin purchase. It is not a loan to buy a house, and it is not a Bitcoin-backed home mortgage. You repay a USD installment loan; after payoff the custodian releases the coins to a wallet you designate.

Can I apply if I do not live in Florida?

Rate estimates nationwide. Full applications currently in Florida. If full applications are not available in your area yet, you can still get a rate estimate (no hard credit check) and create an account. We will notify you when lending opens in your area.

Does the rate estimate affect my credit score?

Accepted Answer

No. The estimate uses details you enter (including a self-reported credit range). We do not pull your credit file. A full application may authorize a hard credit check under FCRA, which can affect your score.

A rate estimate usually takes a few minutes. After a complete application, KYC, credit review, and documents, many decisions finish within one to two business days — timelines are not guaranteed.

No. It is not pre-approval, a rate lock, or a commitment to lend. It shows an illustrative interest rate from your inputs — not a fee-inclusive APR. Final terms depend on underwriting and signed loan documents.

What happens exactly after my loan is approved?

CoinMortgage funds a USD loan. Those proceeds are used to purchase Bitcoin that is credited to an account in your name at a qualified custodian. You own the coins; we have a security interest only. You can view the balance. Withdrawals are restricted under the account-control agreement while the USD loan is outstanding. Monthly USD payments then begin.

How is the Bitcoin collateral managed?
